Luggage

May 4th - 11th

2025

1242 N June Street, Los Angeles

The inaugural group exhibition, “Luggage”, consists of a series of works that reflect on a mechanism of holding, travel, and movement. Laced with both humor and a sense of memory, this exhibition plays with luggage as a vessel—portable and held still in the object of a souvenir. One that elicits a history or the shift from one place to the next. Both the action of collecting and the feeling of change, oscillation, and a need for safekeeping. Hidden in language or a container closed to sight, only to be discovered with a curiosity in looking. This exhibition was inspired by departures and attentive plans to move out of LA. Caught up in this moment of mass movement and transition, luggage can be a reminder of what we take and leave behind.

“Luggage” will be presented as the first exhibition curated by this team of four: Tae Parvit, Violet Denckla, Frances Sheehy, and Lu LaCorte.

The artists that participated in Luggage:

Jason Roberts Dobrin, Chris Olsen, Ali Eyal, Christina Niazian, Phillip Lerman, Tae Parvit, Emily Lucas, Bryan Morello, Laura Ohio, Jordan Dove, Pedro Verdin, David Horovitz
